Don’t panic, but the ACC Coastal will likely have a new champion once again. It’s still early enough in the season for things to change, but either Pittsburgh or Virginia Tech will move to 2-0 in the division, earning a tiebreaker over the other and taking over sole possession of first place.

Pittsburgh comes into the matchup with momentum, fresh off a 52-21 win vs. Georgia Tech. Kenny Pickett passed for 389 yards and four touchdowns in the win. This year, the Panthers continue to be one of the more impressive offensive teams, averaging 554.4 yards of offense to go with an FBS-leading 52.4 points per game. Virginia Tech’s style is more of a contrast. The Hokies dropped to 3-2 after giving up the game’s final 11 points in a 32-29 loss to Notre Dame. But the bigger loss from that game were injuries suffered by quarterbacks Braxton Burmeister and Connor Blumrick. Virginia Tech plays through its defense, allowing 18.6 points per game. But if those two aren’t at full-strength, third-stringer Knox Kadum hasn’t taken any meaningful snaps in 2021.

The Panthers and Hokies are set for a 3:30 p.m. ET start on ESPN2.
