Bearcats QB Desmond Ridder says goodbye to Cincinnati, signs with agent ahead of NFL Draft

Cincinnati quarterback Desmond Ridder thanked his supporters in a goodbye video on social media Friday, indicating he was leaving the school to enter the 2022 NFL Draft. The Athletic confirmed he has signed with an agent and is training for the NFL Scouting Combine, which begins March 1.

Ridder, who led the Bearcats to an undefeated regular season and appearance in the Cotton Bowl against Alabama, will end his career as the third-winningest quarterback of all time.

The fifth-year senior threw for 3,334 yards, 30 touchdowns and eight interceptions this season. The Athletic’s Dane Brugler ranks him as his No. 5 quarterback in the 2022 NFL Draft.

“Cincinnati is a place I’ll always be able to call home,” he said. “I’m forever grateful for the people and the memories that I’ve made here over the past five years.”
