The Dallas Wings fended off elimination on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Connecticut Sun 89-79 in Game 2. There will be a Game 3 in their first-round series, with the winner advancing to the WNBA Semifinals.
The Wings are bent on making sure there WILL be a Game 3.

Kayla Thornton led the scoring for the Wings. She posted 20 points, five assists and four rebounds. Wings guard Allisha Gray also had double-digit scoring, putting up 15 points, eight assists and five rebounds. Teaira McCowan provided an offensive spark coming off the bench, recording a double-double 17 points and 11 rebounds on 8-of-13 shooting from the field.
As a team, the Wings shot 48 percent from the floor and recorded 11 3-pointers. Dallas held the Sun to 45.2 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from 3.
