The Philadelphia Flyers have recalled forward Morgan Frost, their 2017 first-round draft pick, from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL on Wednesday, multiple sources confirmed to The Athletic‘s Charlie O’Connor. He is expected to play Wednesday against the Florida Panthers.
Frost, 22, is considered the Flyers’ top forward prospect. He has 15 points in 16 games for the Phantoms this season.
The Flyers’ center depth has recently taken a hit. Kevin Hayes is out week to week after re-injuring his surgically repaired abdominal muscles, and Derick Brassard suffered a lower-body injury Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Frost has seven points in 22 career NHL games.
