New York Giants defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux went down with a right knee injury during the second quarter of a preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. The team announced that he was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
A cart came out onto the field, but the rookie walked off under his own power. After initially going into a medical tent on the sideline, Thibodeaux went to the locker room with a trainer. He was walking with a slight limp.
The 21-year-old was a star at Oregon, recording 35 solo tackles, seven sacks and two forced fumbles throughout the 2021 season. He finished his collegiate career with 126 total tackles, 35 1/2 tackles for loss and 19 sacks.
Recognized as a unanimous All-American his senior year, Thibodeaux was picked fifth in the 2022 NFL Draft.
