Lewis Dobbin has joined League One side Derby County on loan for the 2022/23 season.
The 19-year-old forward joined Everton Academy aged 11 and has made impressive progress in recent years, leading to his First-Team debut in the Blues’ 2-0 win over Norwich City in September 2021 when he came on as a late substitute.
After signing a new three-and-a-half-year contract in January 2022, Dobbin made a further three senior appearances, having scored six goals and provided two assists in 18 Premier League 2 matches for Everton Under-23s.
Dobbin joins a Derby side led by interim manager Liam Rosenior, with the Rams winning their league opener 1-0 against Oxford United on Saturday.
The Athletic had reported that Dobbin was close to securing a loan move away from the Merseyside club.
He made his first-team debut last season, and signed a long-term deal at Everton in January. There had previously been fears he would leave the club.
The pacy and versatile attacker, who can play in all attacking positions across the front-three, has played for England at every age-group level up to Under-19. He has scored 20 goals across 61 appearances for Everton at Under-18 and Under-21 levels combined.
Dobbin will be the latest Everton academy product to head out on loan, following Harry Tyrer (Chester), Tyler Onyango (Burton), Ryan Astley (Accrington), Ellis Simms (Sunderland) and Jarrad Branthwaite (PSV).
Everton begin their 2022-23 Premier League season at home to Chelsea on August 6.
