Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy has been freed on bail.
Mendy stands accused of seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault relating to five women.
The 27-year-old was freed on bail by Judge Patrick Thompson at a hearing at Chester Crown Court.
He has been bailed until January 24, until a further pre-trial hearing.
He had been due to go on trial this month, but his trial date has been pushed back to June at the earliest.
Mendy has been in custody since he was arrested on August 26. His lawyer has previously said that Mendy denies all charges against him.
He is appearing alongside co-defendant Louis Saha Matturie, 40, who is also accused of serious sex offences.
