Cristiano Ronaldo has said he is excited to work under Erik ten Hag at Manchester United next season.
Ten Hag will take over at Old Trafford in the summer on the back of leading Ajax to the third league title of his reign.
And Ronaldo, 37, has said Manchester United must give the 52-year-old time if the Dutchman is to succeed at the club.
Ronaldo, speaking to Manchester United’s official website, said of Ten Hag’s arrival: “What I know about him is he did a fantastic job for Ajax, that he’s an experienced coach. But we need to give him time.
“Things need to change the way he wants.
“I hope we have success, of course, because, if you have success, all of Manchester is going to have success as well. I wish him the best.
“We are happy and excited, not only as players, but the supporters as well.
“I wish him the best and let’s believe that, next year, we are going to win trophies.”
Ronaldo and his Manchester United team-mates end the season next weekend when they face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on the last day of the Premier League campaign.
United will qualify for next season’s Europa League if they can hold on to sixth spot.
Ronaldo has scored 24 goals in 38 games since rejoining the Red Devils last summer.
The Portugal international has one more year left to run on his deal and there is an option of a further 12 months on top of that.
