Nuggets’ P.J. Dozier out indefinitely with ACL tear in left knee

Denver Nuggets guard P.J. Dozier is out indefinitely with an ACL tear in his left knee, the team announced Wednesday evening. Dozier was averaging 5.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 18.9 minutes per game off the bench this season.

Dozier, 25, suffered the injury during the first quarter of Tuesday’s loss to the Blazers after falling awkwardly following a shot attempt. He had to be carried off the court and back to the locker room.

The fifth-year player out of South Carolina has been a key reserve this year for the Nuggets, who are dealing with numerous injuries. Denver sits at .500 with a 9-9 record on the young season but has lost five straight.
