Rangers sign Dallas Keuchel to minor-league deal

The Texas Rangers have signed pitcher Dallas Keuchel to a minor-league contract, the team announced Monday. He is expected to report to Triple-A Round Rock later this week.

Keuchel was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks last Wednesday for the second time this season. The White Sox also DFA’d him in May.

The 34-year-old left-hander is 2-7 with a 8.53 ERA and a 2.033 WHIP through 50.2 innings pitched in 2022.

Keuchel spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Houston Astros, winning the American League Cy Young Award in 2015 with a 20-8 record, 2.48 ERA and a league-high 232 innings pitched.

In December 2019, Keuchel signed with the White Sox on a three-year, $55.5 million contract. He finished his time in Chicago with a 17-16 record and a 4.79 ERA.
