Ten Hag on Ronaldo leaving United friendly early: ‘This is unacceptable’

Erik ten Hag has criticised Cristiano Ronaldo and other Manchester United players for leaving Sunday’s friendly against Rayo Vallecano early.

Ronaldo was substituted at half-time and was then filmed outside the ground before the end of the match. Diogo Dalot was another who left before the end of the 1-1 draw.

And now the Dutch manager has hit out at those players.

The 52-year-old was asked about players leaving early by Dutch broadcaster Viaplay, and said: “I certainly don’t condone this.

“This is unacceptable, for everyone. We are a team and you have to stay until the end.”

Ronaldo was featuring for the first time this summer after telling United that he wanted to leave the club if a viable offer came in for him. No firm offers for him have been made for the forward.
