Tom Brady returns to Bucs on Monday following 11-day absence

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady returned to the team Monday following an 11-day absence to deal with personal matters.

The 45-year-old missed the team’s first two preseason games against the Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans. Coach Todd Bowles said Sunday he wasn’t sure if Brady would play in the team’s preseason finale Saturday against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Bucs practice at 12:45 p.m. ET on Monday, and will practice until Thursday before heading to Indianapolis.

Brady returns to a Bucs offense with a depleted offensive line. The team lost starting left guard Aaron Stinnie for the season because of a torn ACL and MCL. Center Ryan Jensen is out indefinitely because of a knee injury, while right tackle Tristan Wirfs is day to day because of a strained oblique.

Quarterbacks Blaine Gabbert and Kyle Trask have run the Bucs’ offense in Brady’s absence. Trask has completed 36 of 57 passes for 363 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions this preseason, while Gabbert is 8-of-10 for 69 yards and a touchdown.
