Warriors take 2-0 series lead after epic comeback against Mavericks in Game 2

The Golden State Warriors delivered an epic fourth-quarter comeback to beat the Dallas Mavericks 126-117 in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals Friday night. The Mavericks led during the first three quarters, but the Warriors outscored them 43-32 in the fourth to win and take a 2-0 series lead.

Down 72-58 at the half, Golden State cut Dallas’ lead to two points to start the fourth quarter. Guard Jordan Poole scored 12 of his 23 points off the bench in the final frame. Poole’s tallied 40 points in the series while shooting 15-of-22 from the field.

Steph Curry led the Warriors with 32 points, eight rebounds and five assists to help close it out late, and Kevon Looney scored a career-high 21 points with 12 rebounds.

Mavericks star Luka Doncic led the game with 42 points as Dallas failed to hold off Golden State. The Mavs scored 72 points and made 15 3-pointers in the first half compared to 45 points and six 3s in the second.

The Mavericks will host the Warriors for Game 3 on Sunday.
