Former Incarnate Word quarterback Cameron Ward has committed to Washington State, he announced on Monday night. Ward had been one of the most sought-after quarterbacks in the transfer portal since announcing his intention to jump from the FCS to an FBS program this offseason.
Between Incarnate Word’s spring and fall seasons, Ward played 19 games in 2021, amassing a total stat line of 6,908 passing yards, 74 total touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Washington State coach Jake Dickert hired Ward’s head coach at Incarnate Word, Eric Morris, to be the Cougars’ next offensive coordinator in December.
The Cougars have lost two of their 2021 quarterbacks to the portal: starter Jayden de Laura and Cammon Cooper, who transferred to Hawaii.
