WNBA Playoffs 2022: Storm sweep Mystics to advance to semifinals

The Seattle Storm swept the Washington Mystics, winning 97-84 on Sunday to advance to the semifianls of the 2022 WNBA playoffs. Seattle has reached the second round in each of the last five seasons.

Breanna Stewart led the Storm with 21 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, two steals and a block on 2-of-3 shooting from 3-point range. Jewell Loyd chipped in 19 points on 5-of-10 shooting from distance. Sue Bird scored 18 points and  10 assists — both season highs. Each of Seattle’s starters scored in double figures.

Natasha Cloud paced the Mystics with 21 points, five assists and six boards. Ariel Atkins added 15 points and seven assists for Washington. Elena Delle Donne had 12 points and five assists, going just 5-of-14 from the field.

Seattle advances to take on the top-seeded Las Vegas Aces in the semifinals. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. ET on Sunday from Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.
